Mark Settle joined the firm as a Senior Engineering Advisor in September 2016. Mr. Settle provides technical input on issues before the FCC and NTIA, especially as related to frequency allocations, unlicensed devices, and frequency coordination.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Settle was the Chief of the Policy and Rules Division in the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology, where he oversaw rulemaking proceedings, requests for waivers, orders regarding spectrum allocations, use of unlicensed spectrum, interference mitigation techniques, and technical rules. Mr. Settle has regularly participated in U.S. preparations for ITU World Radio Conferences, and was a primary liaison between the FCC and NTIA and various Federal Agencies, including the U.S. Army, which recognized him with the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
Before joining the FCC, Mr. Settle was with NTIA where he worked on various spectrum management issues related to FCC rulemakings, and ITU World Radio Conferences, and twice was awarded the Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award.
